IT IS IMPORTANT TO FINISH YOUR OFFICIAL GED BEFORE THE END OF DECEMBER, 2013.  AS OF JANUARY 1, 2014, A NEW GED TEST WILL BE IN USE AND WILL BE...

  • COMPUTER-BASED.
  • IN LINE WITH CORE SECONDARY EDUCATION STANDARDS.

ANY INCOMPLETE OR NON-PASSING GED RECORDS CURRENTLY ON FILE OR STARTING FROM 2002 WILL BE DESTROYED AT THAT TIME.

ANYONE WITH PARTIAL PASSING SCORES WILL BE REQUIRED TO START FROM THE BEGINNING AGAIN.

GED Preparation — Our goal is to help each GED candidate succeed and pass.  Keene Community Education can help.  If you know someone who needs to pass the GED, you can encourage that person to get started.  If you are:

  • Unsure of reading or math problem-solving skills...
  • Not confident in ability to understand and interpret information...
  • Needing to brush up on sentence and paragraph structure, spelling and punctuation...

...You are encouraged to request a free assessment and GED preparation recommendations.  Call Katie Delaney at (603)357-9041 to set up an appointment — before or after pre-test.

GED preparation practice is available on-line and free of charge at www.gedprepinfo.com.  Information on specific topics and study tips as well as Practice questions and an answer key for each topic.  No cost for using this website; provides guidance for anyone taking the GED.

BUT remember - there is no such thing as a valid GED Test or Certificate on-line.

Many GED preparation books are available in bookstores and libraries, and any that support the 2002 GED test series are good.  The book that is used by many NH Adult Education centers is Complete GED Preparation, published by Steck-Vaughn, ISBN (978-)1-4190-5399-3.

RESULTS:  Transcripts and the Official New Hampshire GED Certificate

Test results and one free unofficial transcript will be sent by mail approximately two weeks after testing.

Upon successful completion of the Official GED Test Battery, the NH GED Certificate will be issued from the State of New Hampshire GED Administrator, usually within a month.

Extra Transcripts:  If an official transcript is required for college admission or employment application, a letter—or (click to obtain)  Release of Records form — and $5 (check payable to Keene School District) for each transcript requested.

  • Mail or bring directly to Keene Community Education office at 171 West St., Keene, NH  03431.
