PERSONAL ENRICHMENT
Organic Gardening
So, you like the prospect of environmental health and personal health: you want to create an organic garden. Learn more about why to do it and how to do it with Tracie Smith, owner of Tracie's Community Farm. You'll plan your garden, learn what soil and plants (including fruit trees) need, how to maintain them, and how to prevent pests. You'll get your hands dirty seeding, transplanting, mulching, hoeing, and hand weeding, and hear about harvesting and post harvesting techniques. A six-pack tray of vegetables for you to take home will start your garden. Please note that classes alternate between Keene High School room 317 (first class) and Tracie's Community Farm and Greenhouse in Fitzwilliam (directions given at first class). Limit: 25
